Another summer day in paris and rome- part 2

the sculptor let me into his studio,
the painter let me walk through his colours,
the singer let me dance to his tunes,
will you let me play with you?

the actors let me read their lines,
the writers let me end their stories,
the poets let me rhyme their verses,
will you let me talk to you?

the bridges let me walk across them,
the roads let me discover them,
the palaces let me into their secrets,
will you let me tell you a story?

the children let me join their game,
the drunks let me buy them a drink,
the strangers let me smile at them,
will you let me look into your eyes?

the streets promised to keep my secrets,
the cobblestones promised to remember my voice,
the secret passages promised to forget me,
will you let me explore you?

colosseo

……as he relates
glorious stories of
the magnificient roman empire,
i think to myself,

nothing was…

another summer day has come and gone away in either paris or rome.

how does looking over snow capped mountains glistening in the morning sun from your aircraft window, touching down in the land of the gods and being greeted by gladiators as the sun sets behind the colosseum make you a different person?

it doesn’t.

it only gives you a heady rush that basically comprises of your heart beating faster, your breath catching in your throat and words deserting you forever.

welcome to rome.
the empire lives.

christmas days and christmas nights.

rejoice!
the snow is on its way.
i’ve seen the hints at dawn.
revel!
the presents will be under the tree.
i’ve seen the glint in your eye.
dance!
the food will be delicious.
i’ve felt the hunger in your touch.
sing!
the day is almost upon us.
i’ve known the desire of your soul.

celebrate!
for we may not see another one.
